Welcome
to John Ingram's official website, where you can see
pictures of him in racing action and read about his exploits
on track in the 2007 National Superstock 1000 Championship,
and from 2010 racing with top British clubs and in selected National
Superstock rounds. ABOUT
ME I
started racing Schoolboy Motocross in 1985, and
continued until 1990, during which time I won 3
Championships in the North West. I had a break then
when I left school and started doing an apprenticeship in
joinery. In 2003 I bought a Suzuki GSX-R for
the road, did a track day at Croft and decided I liked the
track better than riding on the roads. So I started
racing with various clubs
through to 2005. I never really contested a
full championship with any one club, but I did have a number
of race wins, mostly riding a Suzuki GSX-R 1000. In
2005 I decided it was time to move up to the National
scene and I did a few National Superstock races. In 2006
I changed to a Yamaha R1 and contested the National
Superstock Championship full time. I started well with
pole at the first round at Brands Hatch, then promptly threw
it down the road on lap 1 of the race. I made up for
that by scoring points in most of the races after that. For
2007 I changed back to a Suzuki GSX-R 1000, the
season went well with me scoring points again in most of the
races, with the highest of 10th at Croft. You can read
about my season in Race Reports 2007/8. At the end of
the season I did the last two British Superbike rounds on
the SMT Yamaha R1 Superbike. In
2008 I just did a one off ride in the Yamaha R1 Cup
with the Co-Ordit Team and finished 9th in the wet race. 2009
I took a year off and did some Motocross instead, and
finished 4th in the Northwest Expert Championship + race
wins, although I missed
several rounds. I was the 2009/10 Whiterose Winter Series
Champion with a number of race wins. I
decided to come back to road racing in 2010, and
bought a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K7 Superstock bike. I
started racing at Aintree, then decided to do EMRA at
Mallory Park at their third round, and also did the NEMCRR round
at Croft. I also did the National Superstock round at
Croft, qualifying 5th. I did the final National
Superstock round at Oulton Park on a friend's BMW, but
struggled to get the handling right. 2011
Plans are to continue racing with the top British clubs and
compete in selected National Superstock rounds, on my own
top specification Superstock BMW. I sold the BMW in
August but borrowed one for a couple of meetings, then
bought a 2010 Suzuki which is EVO spec except for the
electronics. 2012
I will continue to compete at EMRA and defend my Buildbase
Mallory Championship. I had planned to do the
ThundersportGB series but I need a little help with entry
fees and tyres if anyone is willing, although I may do a few
rounds. I will also probably do a few other selected
meetings such as Stars at Darley etc. RACING
